Your iPhone might be the device you reach for throughout the day. Your iPad gives you more room to explore a photo. Your Mac might be where you sit down to organize a library or spend time on a project.
I want my apps to fit into those moments. Moving to another device should be a simple choice, and your purchase should come with you.
That is why all my apps support Universal Purchase. Trustful, Photo Refinery, and Stills each let you use your purchase across their supported Apple platforms: iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
What Universal Purchase Means For You
Apple’s Universal Purchase lets an app and its in-app purchases be available across multiple Apple platforms through a single purchase.
For my apps, the idea is straightforward: purchase access to an app on one platform, and use that same purchase on your other supported Apple devices. Sign in to the App Store with the Apple Account you used for the purchase.
Each app has its own purchase. A Trustful purchase carries across the supported versions of Trustful; Photo Refinery and Stills follow the same approach for their own purchases.
Universal Purchase describes where your purchase works. The plan you choose still determines how long that access lasts. If you choose a subscription, your access across devices follows that subscription’s active period and renewal terms.

Trustful helps you protect and organize private photos and videos with encrypted storage. You might use it on your iPhone for everyday access and on your Mac when you want more room to browse your library.
Your Trustful purchase works across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. You can choose the screen that suits what you are doing without purchasing the same access again for another platform.
Photo Refinery: Upscale And Refine
Photo Refinery helps you upscale and refine photos with on-device processing. Sometimes you want to improve an image on your phone; sometimes you want to look more closely on a larger display.
The same Photo Refinery purchase works across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, giving you the freedom to choose where you use the app.
Stills: Find The Photo Inside Your Video
Stills helps you find a frame in a video and save it as a photo at the original video’s resolution. A fleeting expression or a moment of movement can become a photo worth keeping.
Stills follows the same Universal Purchase approach across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your purchase stays with you as you choose a different supported device.
Why This Matters To Me
As an independent developer and designer, I think about the small decisions that make an app comfortable to use. How a purchase works is one of those decisions.
If you have already chosen to support an app, I want you to enjoy it wherever it is available in the Apple ecosystem. A bigger screen, a keyboard, or simply the device closest to you should be enough reason to switch.
This also gives me a clear principle to build around: make each app useful on the devices it supports, while keeping access simple for the person using it.
Using Your Purchase On Another Device
- Download the same app from the App Store on your other compatible device.
- Make sure the App Store is signed in to the Apple Account used for your original purchase.
- Open the app. If an in-app purchase is not recognized, look for its option to restore purchases.
